Section 01: Introduction
RentCalculators is dedicated to provide graphing calculator rentals to students, school staff, faculty and academic institutions in the United States including Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Alaska.

Section 02: The goal
The goal is to improve the level of education in the United States by making education more accessible, more affordable, and more exciting to as many students as possible. Since quantities of graphing calculators are limited we must restrict calculator rentals to only one calculator per individual or one calculator per household. The submission of multiple orders either simultaneously or in intervals, with identical properties such as personal information, billing information, or a combination of both is automatically rejected.

Section 03: Two ways of renting a calculator
There are two ways of renting a calculator; you may place your order on-line or over the phone, both methods provide the same level of efficiency. However, placing your order on-line offers great advantages, such as the flexibility of placing your order whenever is most convenient for you (24/7/365) and the benefit of being able to print a confirmation receipt with your order #, account #, and relevant information when done. On the other hand, if the phone is your tool of preference, we’ll be happy to assist you.

Section 04: Phone orders
When placing your order over the phone, your calculator will be shipped out with a copy of the “Terms of Service Agreement” attached to the outside of the package and a note asking you to read the agreement before opening the package. You must first read this “Terms of Service Agreement” and then open the package. Opening the package states that you have read and fully agreed to the “Terms of Service Agreement.” If you do not agree to any portion of the “Terms of Service Agreement,” do not open the package. Simply, return it. If you place/d your order on-line this process does not apply to you.

Section 05: Primary-cards
A Primary-card is the credit/debit card used to make your regular monthly payments.

Section 06: Backup-cards
A Backup-card is a 2nd credit/debit card provided for backup useful to maintain your payment history on time and avoid NSF (Non-Sufficient-Funds) fees. If provided, this Backup-card is saved in your file and used in the future ONLY IF the first card you provided (your Primary-card) fails or declines during a future monthly charge. If during checkout, you do not wish to provide a Backup-card, you may provide a temporary 100% refundable Security-deposit instead. Backup-cards must always maintain at least $20 in available funds for backup to be considered “Active.” While your account remains open and for your convenience, if your Backup-card fails to maintain at least $20 in available funds at all times, your card will be automatically replaced by a temporary 100% refundable Security-deposit. If you would like to avoid having your Backup-card replaced by a 100% refundable Security-deposit, please maintain at least $20 in available funds at all times in it. RentCalculators is not responsible for any results your account may experience such as overdraft fees resulting from debiting applicable charges to your card. All open accounts must maintain an “Active” Backup-card OR a temporary 100% refundable Security-deposit at all times. You may read about temporary 100% refundable Security-deposits in the following section.

Section 07: Temporary 100% Refundable Security-deposits
You may choose to provide a temporary 100% Refundable Security-deposit instead of a Backup-card. All Security-deposits are temporary, are 100% refundable and are credited back as soon as the calculator/s is returned and your account is closed. For a full Security-deposit refund, calculator/s must be returned in the same condition it/they was/were sent out, normal wear is expected. The following Security-deposits apply to each calculator: TI-83 plus: $35, TI-84 Plus: $45, TI-86: $50, TI-89: $55. For school, staff, or faculty orders of more than two calculators, the Security-deposit per calculator varies, please contact us for details.

Section 08: Billing cycles
By submitting your order on-line or over the phone you agree to use RentCalculators free automated-payment service and authorize RentCalculators to automatically (without further notice) charge applicable fees to your credit/debit card/s until your account is closed. All billing cycles and monthly fees are accrued on the 1st of every month. Therefore, rental fees are accrued and charged on a calendar monthly basis and monthly fees are not prorated. Accounts remain "Open" from the time the order is "Submitted" to the time the account is "Closed." Example: Account Opened on 04/17/2000 & Closed on 06/09/2000 (this account is charged the same flat monthly fee for April, May, and June). Therefore, you may wait for the beginning of the month to place your order, however, quantities of graphing calculator rentals are limited and future availability of these items is not guaranteed. As stated earlier, once you have placed your order, monthly charges are automatic. The actual day of the month that your credit/debit card gets charged varies and it is usually between the 7th and the 21st of the month. Therefore, it is crucial that your Primary-card has available funds during this time. A $6.00 NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) fee will apply in addition to the monthly fee every month sufficient funds are NOT available at the time your credit/debit card gets charged. You may prevent NSF fees by making sure that your Primary-card always has sufficient funds available to cover the monthly fee and by making sure that we always have your most updated billing information on file – this includes updating your account with new card-expiration dates. IF YOUR ACCOUNT REMAINS IN PAST DUE STATUS FOR MORE THAN 3 CONSECUTIVE BILLING CYCLES, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE REPORTED TO COLLECTIONS. Remember, this is a legal contract and you are responsible for your account until it is CLOSED.

Section 09: By submitting your order
By submitting your order on-line or over the phone you authorize RentCalculators to charge your card for the total amount of your order. Submitting your order however, does not mean that your card has been automatically charged. Your card gets charged only after we have processed your order. After your order is submitted, your bank puts an “authorization” sometimes known as a “pending charge” or a “hold” on the total amount of your order and these funds are then used by us to process your order. In the event that your order is canceled prior to processing, either by you or by us, the authorization or pending charge placed on those funds (which equals to the total amount of your order) is automatically removed by your bank or financial institution usually within 15-30 days after your order was submitted. RentCalculators is not responsible for any results your account may experience (such as overdraft fees) after your order is submitted and the total amount of your order is “authorized” or “charged” to your card. By submitting your order you also acknowledge that RentCalculators will not contact you to remind you that your card will get charged the monthly fee or any unpaid balance. RentCalculators also reserves the right to refuse service to any applicant who provides fraudulent information. All transactions as well as shipping charges are final.

Section 14: How to close your account
There are 3 ways to close an account: (1) Is to return the calculator/s back to us. Calculator/s must be returned in the same condition it/they was/were sent out, normal wear is expected. (2) If you lost our calculator/s, damaged it/them, broke it/them, or it/they was/were stolen, you may replace it/them with calculator/s of the same kind in the same condition or better – Refer to Section 16 for more details. (3) If you lost our calculator/s, damaged it/them, broke it/them, or it/they was/were stolen, you may pay for the value of the calculator/s (previously paid rental fees do not apply) – Refer to Section 16 for more details. The reason why previously paid rental fees do not apply is because we are not allowed to sell calculators, much less to sell them in payments. Fees previously paid helped cover operating expenses that took place during previous months. Since, those funds are no longer available we may not use them to replace the calculator/s you rented.

Section 15: When to return your calculator rental to avoid the next monthly fee
Calculators must be returned via Mail and shipped to RC Returns Dept. PO Box 1774 Norwalk CA, 90651-1774. The cut off day and time for all returned packages is the 1st of every month at 5:00pm PST (pacific time). If you would like to avoid the next monthly fee you must send your calculator back with enough time for it to arrive at our PO Box by this date. You may also print the “Before-You-Ship-It-Back Checklist” directly from our website at www.RentCalculators.org by clicking on the “Returns Address” button directly from the home page. All returned packages are picked up daily and are stamped with the “day-of-arrival.” Therefore, as long as your calculator arrives at the PO Box on or before the 1st of the month you will not be charged for that month. If your calculator arrives or arrived after the 1st of the month, your account is subject to the monthly fee for that month. Please double check the address when you write it on your package and be sure that your shipping carrier delivers to PO boxes. We are not responsible for packages sent to the wrong address or shipped with a shipping carrier that does not deliver to PO boxes.

The answer is obvious; in addition to any fees previously paid, your account will be subject to an additional charge of up to the value of the calculator. The values of the calculators are: TI-83 plus: $99.99, TI-84 Plus: $129.99, TI-86: $139.99, TI-89: $149.99. If you choose to replace our calculator by sending a different one, it is your responsibility to inform us through e-mail of the new calculator you will be sending to avoid subsequent monthly charges. Once you meet any of the three ways to close an account (explained in detail in a previous section named “How to close your account”) your agreement to pay the monthly fee is terminated and you will no longer be charged. Otherwise your account remains open and active.
